World Art Tour

Bird's World Art Tour continues today with a stop at the Metroplitan Museum of Art in New York to view Phillipe de Champaigne's Annunciation, a large painting done circa 1664.

The painting depicts Mary sitting at a desk writing in her diary when the archangel Gabriel appears before her, accompanied by two, naked cherubs and the flamingo of peace. They are all there to announce to Mary that she has won an all expenses paid contest to become miraculously impregnated with the joy of celestial fire.

As a possible omen of things to come a strange hand also appeared, apparently worried that Gabriel might fall.

On a sadder note, the Psychedelic Soul concert scheduled for tomorrow at the RBR World Headquarters has been indefinitely postponed, due to time constraints. Bird and the staff hope to reschdule it in the near future.
