Today's Ecology Report

After a great deal of research there is finally a report on problems with one of the great spectacles of Africa - the vast flocks of flamingos feeding at Lake Nakuru in Kenya. Silt from farming is choking the habitat, wildlife experts said yesterday, and it is effecting the 1.5 millions flamingos that live there. The lake is dying and so are the birds.

The Guardian has a good article in today's edition on this problem and you can read the full article HERE The article is not brief, but The RBR strongly recommends it.

At the appropriate time Bird will be venturing to Kenya to examine the problem 'first wing.'

Lake Nakuru is pictured below in one of its dominant colors.
