We're Not Making This Up

"SCIENTISTS at an Edinburgh university have developed a tuna-flavored ice cube to calm down stressed-out cats.

A research team probing stress-related illnesses in cats says that depressed moggies can be placated with the fish-flavored ice cubes. Experts at Edinburgh's Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies have been analyzing kitty behavior and found that they suffer from stress-related illnesses, much in the same way that humans do.

The research also revealed that cats become lazy, withdrawn, and fat as they are upset about life changes, such as moving house or fights with other felines. But miserable moggies were found to become happier when owners served up the icy fish cocktail during a mammoth study of 125 animals.

The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said the research would prove valuable for pet owners. Spokeswoman Doreen Graham said: 'We've always known cats are extremely sensitive and this study highlights a problem more widespread than previously thought.'"

And you can read about it HERE, with proper British spelling of course.
