Interesting

While hanging out on the moon to avoid the politicians until Monday Bird discovered some leftover props from the movie 2001, A Space Odyssey and thought it would make for an interesting photo opportunity. He set the delayed shutter on the camera, moved into the field of view and "voila!"

One theory is that the obelisk represented knowledge, though it can certainly be debated whether it taught the pre-apes anything important other than how to kill tapir, a skill that is not in high demand in the job market today. In case the 'knowledge' theory is true Bird decided touching the obelisk might be the equivalent to the three years it takes to earn a PhD, which in this case would stand for Doctor of Phenocopterae.
