Bird to St. Louis

Bird will be making a personal apprearance in St. Louis on Monday evening as a special event will take place at the Gateway Arch. The event will call attention to breast cancer awareness and in honor of that cause the arch will be lighted in pink lights for three hours beginning at 8:00 PM CDT. As the pink lights come on Bird will do a "fly-thru" of the arch and then will perch on top as a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade style balloon will be raised uner the arch.

The National Park Service, which oversees the site, made an attempt to stop the special ceremony but was rebuffed by a resolution from Congress. The NPS is fearful that other groups will now want to stage special events at the arch and that this could lead to the politicalization of the site.

The graphic artists at RBRWH (Rare Bird Review World Headquarters) offers here their impression of what the arch might look like when lit. The RBR will have complete photo coverage of the event on Tuesday afternoon.

To honor the fight against breat cancer Bird will be attired in pink for the event. Oh, wait.....Bird is pink.
