San Fermin Follies
With everything under control in Scotland, Bird caught an updraft and landed back in Pamplona for the Festival of San Fermin.
As noted in a previous report one of the main parts of the festival is the bacchinalian mood that seems to come from everywhere. Bird caught up with a group of RBR employees who were vacationing in San Fermin and getting in the spirit of the festival. It looks like wine skins will become a permanent fixture at future staff parties as the boys were negotiating with the locals on shipping rates.
In the second picture Bird is seen marching in the Parade of the Giant Heads which is also a part of the festival. It was a shame that the Giant Plastic Jesus torso was otherwise occupied as he would have fit right in to this parade.
And finally there was a shortage of bulls at this years festival so Bird decided to help out and the San Fermin folks had the first ever 'Running of the Flamingos.' In this case it was more running from the flamingos, but the idea was the same. There is nothing more fearsome to Spaniards thn being chased by large, pink birds.
Bird intends to stay in San Fermin for another day or so. L'il P-Bird will be heading to Florida to check on hurricane damage and Bird will join him there when the festival ends.
