May Day! Birthday!

In honor of warm sunny weather we offer Fountains in the Park of Sanssouci Palace near Potsdam, 1903 by Theo van Rysselberghe (1862-1926).
Bird is always thrilled when recounting how a flock of his ancestors dropped in when Theo was painting the local fountain and was captured in this oil on canvas painting. Flamingos have an affinity for the impressionistic style of painting and lend themselves to that genre as shown in the illustration to the left. The original painting hangs in the Neue Pinakpthek in Munich, Germany.
