Grilled Cheese, Hold the Virgin
The world is off and running in strange ways again. Current listings on E-Bay include a ten year old grilled cheese sandwich (made without butter) that bears a likeness to the Virgin Mary on the surface. The griller claims that she was so impressed with it when she made it that she only took one little nibble before discovering the image. She put it in a plastic box, drove to a casino and promptly won $75,000. Current bidding on the sandwich is $62,000. Bidding closes November 22.
Here at the RBRWH the lunchroom sprang into action today and created the first Grilled Bird Sandwich, in cheese of course. A sample is pictured at the right.
Unlike the Virgin Version the Bird Sandwich goes for a mere $1.99 in the lunchroom. The sandwich is made with part cheddar and part American cheese and is on home made Italian style bread. It comes with a pickle spear. The head cook is currently working to carve the pickle spears into flamingos, but has yet to succeed. Also unlike the sandwich on E-bay the Bird Sandwich does not come with one bite taken out of it. It is full and complete.
The sandwich is not available with low fat cheese or low carb bread. It is also grilled in real butter. The RBR will post updates as the pickle carving continues.
