Everyone's a Critic 

Taking a break from his Mt St Helens' watch Bird offers some constructive criticism to Roderick Smith of Portland, Oregon, as he paints the volcano. Bird was able to advise Roderick on several things. One result is that the picture does have some pink in it. While Smith could not see the pink from his vantage point with the way the light was at the time Bird was able to assure him that it was there.

Mr. Smith is currently doing a series of paintings of each of the coast volcanos. Bird did suggest that he use acrylics because of their fast drying time, and one would not want to have to wait on oils to dry if the volcano was erupting or exploding.
