Shake, Rattle and Blow?
After catching the news broadcasts and the internet today Bird is currently enroute to Washington. No, it's not politics, it's the "state of" Washington and the Mt. St Helen's volcano which seems to be waking up after a 24+ year slumber. Three days ago the area was quiet, but for the last two days the volcano has averaged 4 earthquakes per minute. Scientists today announced that "the lava is rising" and causing pressure under the dome in the crater.
Mt. St. Helens' last eruption triggered the largest landslide in recorded history. Bird will be there late this evening and will be the "Bird on the Scene" for next several days.
The RBR has added a link to the right for the Mt. St. Helens live volcano cam. If you look at just the right moment you may see bird flying by.
