Heading North to Safety 

Bird arrived in Key West in time to help direct traffic up the keys toward Miami and away from Key West as Ivan the Terrible threatened the islands. Several locals assisted, spotting themselves on polls to watch traffic or assisting bird in pointing the way. Two brown pelicans hitched rides on SUV's while saving their strength to battle the coming winds.

Once the traffic clears bird will be watching the waters for Cubans before flapping east north east to safety.
