Scouting the Wee Beasties

Bird and his buddy, Dog, are currently in Scotland scouting out possible haggi havering sites prior to the first day of haggis season on St. Andrew's Day, November 30. They are shown here in front of The King's House Hotel just inland from Glencoe, Argyll, in the west of Scotland. Glencoe is north of Oban and is near Kyle of Localsh, the gateway to the Isle of Skye. Obviously some of the precipitation that hit the west coast yesterday and today was not in liquid form when it made its way inland and to some higher elevations.

The King's House is one of the oldest continually operating hotels in Scotland and is often a gathering spot for climbers attempting to climb Ben Nevis. It's also on a haggi migration route, as they pass through the area on their way to Oban, which is one of the eight most prime havering locations for haggi.

Bird and Dog both report numerous haggi tracks so the season promises to be a good one. You may begin hunting haggi at 7:00 PM Eastern Time on November 29. That is midnight in Scotland and some haggi are nocturnal. You may haver the haggi by clicking on the link at the right.

Both Bird and Dog should be back in time for the St Andrews Eve Feast on November 29.
