The Late Period

Bird dropped in on Pablo Picasso late this afternoon and was caught looking through the window of his 1967 painting titled (remarkably) Bearded Man with a Nude Woman.

Bird makes no attempt to understand the use and non-use of color in this painting, done near the end of Picasso's career and life. The use of bright red on what is either a blanket or Picasso's attempt at self censorship (though the RBR remains concerned about what is poking above the red), and the subtle use of little spahses of green in the shutter and the long line of green in the drape, combine with the light brushes of ivory to give this painting a sense of almost nothing. We remain curious as to why the Nude Woman is reading the newspaper.
