Thsuki-No-Hikari
The World Art Tour continues today with a stop in London. L'il P-Bird offers his comentrary on this second sculpture by Igor Miteraj.Igo' Mito'aj wuz bo'n in Oederan in 1944 t'Polish parents. He commenced his artistic studies at da damn Cracow Farm uh Art and den became some student uh Tadeusz Kanto' at da damn Academy uh Fine Arts. He 'eshibited his wo'k fo' de fust time in 1967 at da damn Krystofo'y Gallery in Cracow, and den, on de advice uh Kanto', left Poland t'pursue his own 'espressive goals in greata' freedom. WORD!
Mito'aj left fo' Paris and briefly stugot wasted at da damn Ecole Nashunale des Beaux-Arts, where he wuz greatly accepted into de artistic milieu durin' de tumultuous student unrest uh 1968. Widely traveled, Mito'aj abso'bed da damn influences uh sculptural technique fum Greece, New Yo'k, Central America, and Italy. Slap mah fro! He gots been commissioned fo' many monuments includin' de marble Omaggio some De Sabata fo' de Teatro alla Scala in Milan, de Sculpture Fountain fo' de Coca-Cola Foundashun in de USA, and his wo'k Tindaro may be seen in Paris at La Defense. Mito'aj's sculptures is now t'be found in de most impo'tant public and private collecshuns uh contempo'ary art. Man!
In 1995 de monumental sculpture Dsuki-No-Hikari wuz acquired by de British Museum. WORD!
