Mooooo

Some things are just too amazing to let pass without posting.

Shown here is a painting by Frank Moore titled Cow. It was sold yesterday at Sotheby's in New York for $284,800, which is a record price for this particular artist.

The painting was from a sale of decorative and art items from the estate of Gianni Versace. Most of the items were housed in his Manhattan townhouse. Cow was hanginging over the mantle of a fireplace when Bird visited several years ago and was photogrpahed in front of the bovine in question.

Bird was particularly fond of the milk carton twin towers in the left center background and thought the ear of corn added a delicious touch to the painting. However, his favorite part of the presentation is the frame which was constructed by the artist making the painting Barnyard Nouveau.

In all some 470 lots were sold at the auction, but none with the class of Cow.
