Death Be Not Proud

There is sadness in the world today, not to mention a little darkness. Thanks to a power outage yesterday morning there are no bubbles in the world today either. When the power came back on the flamingo and alligator bubble light that serves as a nightlight was "el morto."

A quick trip to a couple of local stores failed to produce a replacement bulb. The local Wal-Mart was ever helpful and after some checking they were proud to inform me that their Christmas stock will start arriving around the first of August and if I couldn't locate a bubble light between now and then to check back with them at that time.

Should I be happy that I may be cursing the darkness for only seven weeks? Should I be cynically offended that Wal-Mart will start putting out Christmas decorations in August. Should I be irate that they won't even wait until after Labor Day to put these things out for sale? Should I wait to buy locally or should I hop on the internet and spend ten times the amount of money I need to spend and get a dozen bulbs instead of one or two? Next year when I pay my state income tax should I report an out of state purchase via the internet and pay the sales tax if I order on line? What will 'bird" and "Al" do if they have spend all night in the darkness clinging to their now useless glass cylinder? Obviously they will no longer need their 'shades.' Juliet doesn't realize how lucky she was that her "light" was not a flamingo/alligator bubble light because the light never would have "broken through yonder window" to allow that lovesick Romeo to find her.

Thankfully, there is money for wine after the pope and I won the death pool discussed below. Like sands through the hourglass so pass the days......never mind.
