How Disappointing
Bird was extremely disappointed to learn that his website was not named a finalist for a Webbie Award. It's not that he was expecting to win Web Log of the Year, but some mention for best use of the color pink, religious reporting for the coverage of the Giant Plastic Jesus, or news reporting for hurricane coverage, Mt. St Helens and the Scottish Parliament opening would have been nice. He wasn't even nominated in the fine arts category for Macbird, nor in the food category for the delicious cicada recipes last spring, nor even in the critical analysis category for the review of the movie Troy.
Consequently the staff has been shuffled and fresh ideas will be brought in. Perhaps the voting next December and January wil be different. Bird would like to thank the 37 people who did cast votes for his website in some of the categories. Your numbers may be small - but they be powerful!
