Bird and friends somehow landed in this Edward Hopper painting done in 1937 -- Evening on Cape Cod. Obviously the collie has kept the sheep out of the yard allowing the grass to grow, but it does provide good cover for overnighting flamingos.

Hopper (1882 - 1967) was the best known American realist in the period between the two world wars and primarily painted buildings, rooms, and quiet scenes as he traveled around New England
